Why you should consider Direct Neurofeedback?
Direct Neurofeedback is a safe, pain-free, non-pharmaceutical approach toward healing symptoms of PTSD, anxiety/panic/OCD, and depression. Clients find relief from insomnia, intrusive memories, mood disturbances, irritability and more. Direct Neurofeedback is a process that relaxes the nervous system and optimizes brain function. One of the fundamental ways that Direct Neurofeedback works is by reducing the “fight or flight” response of the sympathetic peripheral nervous system while simultaneously enhancing the calming “rest and digest” parasympathetic nervous system.
Small sensors are placed on the scalp which measure the electrical activity of the brain and generate an EEG (electroencephalogram). Based on your own brainwave pattern, a tiny, imperceptible signal is sent back to your brain from the computer. This signal causes a slight fluctuation in brainwaves. This slight change allows for frozen stuck patterns to be disrupted and the brain reorganizes itself. This process is like re-booting a frozen computer. Sessions are generally 20-30 minutes and can be added to psychotherapy session. Clients generally notice a shift in their well-being immediately or within the first few sessions. With additional sessions, clients report that improvements endure. An average of 15-20 session is typically needed. Ongoing treatment is usually not needed.
When I heard the testimonials from clients who utilized Direct Neurofeedback, I knew I needed to add this modality of healing to my private practice. Direct Neurofeedback compliments the body-based approach I provide to my clients. I love the results and I know you will too.
